What’s Included in Our Road Cycling Holiday

Preparation and Racing as a Package Deal

The Legend

The Ötztal Cycle Marathon: Tirol’s premier and most challenging bike race. Founded in the 1980s, this event now attracts numbers of registrations that vastly exceed the maximum 4500 start places available from cyclists who are keen to experience this fascination.

The route starts in Sölden and passes through the Ötz valley heading North. From Oetz, the Kühtai is the first major climb followed by a rapid descent into Innsbruck. The group then crosses the Brenner pass towards Sterzing. This is followed by the Jaufenpass, a steady climb with multiple twists and turns on its downhill section. The race concludes with the Timmelsjoch, the longest and steepest climb followed by the dreaded short final climb to the toll station.

Back at the finish after 238km and 5500 meters of altitude difference, the dream has become a reality!

Preparation Days and Race Weekend

Perfect preparation is essential to successfully complete the Ötztal Cycle Marathon, and nothing beats training on the actual race route. Our package includes 5 nights of preparation and training on dates of your choice between June 8th and mid July. This is followed by 4 nights around the actual race date to maximize the event experience. We also provide a guaranteed start place for the Ötztal Cycle Marathon on September 2nd, 2018..

Our preparation days are the ideal opportunity to familiarize yourself with the route, and the climbs and descents without the pressure of race conditions.
On the race weekend, we offer two guided tours. During our race on Sunday, September 2nd 2018, we have our own feed station on the Brenner pass, which should enable us to ride as a group here.

5 + 4 NIGHTS IN A 4 STAR HOTEL

A perfect race also requires perfect accomodation.
We believe we have found this in the die berge lifestyle hotel sölden**** located directly at the race finish location.

The hotel provides a generous and varied breakfast buffet and we eat in the hotel restaurant in the evening.

Our bikes are stored securely and a separate laundry service is available.

The sauna with panorama views and the rooftop pool make the accommodation just that extra bit special.

About Me

Mountain-loving Austrian. You are most likely to find me on skis or on the bike in the mountains at the weekend. Discovered a love for road cycling through my ambition to ride the Großglockner Hochalpenstraße (Grossglockner High Alpine Road).
I organized my first mountain stage holiday with Xandi in 2009, and have subsequently organized and led a number of road cycling holidays. We founded Stessaonda in 2016 with the Cycling Adventures banner, our road cycling holiday brand.
